This 80-page freelance project for the Western Forestry Leadership Coalition was a fun collaboration and a great example of turning a Word document of scientific information and graphs into a visually consumable report for wildfire leaders across the West. The True Cost of Wildfire in the Western U.S. is an update to an original wildfire cost analysis completed in 2010, and the wildfire landscape looks completely different than it did back then.
Working on a truncated deadline, my role included editing for content, readability and proofing. I gathered and chose all the imagery and generated layout options for the communications partner in charge of the project. Based on feedback, I created the final report and saw it through the revision process and also coordinated printing quotes and return of the final printed publications.
